In 2019, my husband, Mike, and I decided to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary in the Charlotte area, and at the same time, make it our potential retirement destination. We spoke to a few realtors from home and found that Chris really stood out among the other realtors with his upbeat personality and extensive knowledge of the 55 and older retirement communities in the area. When we finally met in person, he was more than accommodating, showing us the surrounding areas, sharing the names of some of the best restaurants, and describing in detail the stores and medical needs nearby. When it was time to fly back to Connecticut, we had a clear understanding of how the Charlotte area was developing and the housing price ranges available to us. We had about a year and a half to two years before full retirement and during that time, we all kept in touch and developed a stellar working relationship. Then Covid hit. We were put on hold for another year or so, and in total, took 3.5 years to make our way down to Charlotte for good! Chris kept in touch with us all that time and we couldn't have been in better hands. We finally closed in November of 2022 and have made a great friend in the process. Thank you for your recent recommendation of Christopher Bucey as a listing/selling agent for my home. Soon after I accepted and signed his contract, Christopher was immediately on the job. Christopher listened and followed my requests for not only when I wanted the house listed; for example no signs in outside or open house showings. I appreciated his fair pricing for my home. When it was time to put my home on the market I told Christopher I wanted him personally to be both the lister and the seller; I wanted the first potential buyer to purchase the house. Mr Bucey not only heeded this request but when the house was first shown on the web (coming soon) the potential buyer called Christopher with an offer. We recently purchased a new home in The Farms @ Ingleside, The Preserve and Christopher Bucey was AMAZING! He met with us and the builder every time we had a walk through, he accompanied us to our closing, when we would become “technically” challenged he would step up and take care of getting things sent in on time for us! We lived over 4 hours away so Christopher was our eyes and ears - sending us pictures as the house progressed and calling us when something needed to be decided asap! If we found something that didn’t look right ( or if Chris found it ) he would bring it to the attention of the builder! Chris - If we could give you stars it would be 5, if we had to rate you 1-10, it would be a 10! We wanted to thank you for all your help, patience, knowledge and hard work to find us a home and neighborhood we love. When Karen introduced us and said you were going to be her partner and would take over our house search we of course were a little hesitant and skeptical - we had to trust Karen. Wow were you quick to make us trust you and learn why Karen had selected you. Your knowledge of 55 + and the various builders was top notch. We know we tried your patience with our hunt - you were always up beat and ready to take us to the next neighborhood. You spent time prepping us on the neighborhood, builder as well as things to ask or expect. When we found the property we bought I think you were just as excited - imagine finding the perfect home and lot and it being a spec. We think your work and participation only got harder once we signed the contract to buy. It was great to get pictures every 2 weeks to see progress when we could not get there. When we needed a home inspector within 48 hours you were right there and found us an amazing one, and then needed to repeat once we got ready to close. You asked what things we might need or want to do in the home and gave us a list of vendors/contractors that could help and you trusted. Our true thanks go to when we had issues with the closing date, as we grew frustrated you stayed calm and took action. First, you took on daily tracking of getting an answer to the exact new date of closing. You next worked behind the scenes to try and help us escalate, you showed up early to speak with the construction manager to prep him for us and get him on the right page. You supported us and made sure we knew our requests and issues were valid. Never once did you say "oh that is the way it is, or accept it". You always followed up after a meeting with your list of items to be done and completed to make sure we had not missed anything. Even once we closed and until now you continue to check up on us and make sure all is right and we are enjoying our home. Just the other day someone mentioned they might be looking to move in a 55+ - both Jeff and I immediately said when you are ready we have the perfect person to help you, Chris Bucey.
